Chocolate Yoghurt Chia Seed Mousse
If you’re looking for a delicious, chocolatey treat that also packs a nutritional punch, this Chocolate Yoghurt Chia Seed Mousse is a winner! Chia seeds are little fiber powerhouses, helping to keep tummies happy and digestion on track. Plus, this recipe is loaded with protein, making it a perfect school lunch addition.
Make it the night before, then just grab it in the morning—top with crunchy toasted muesli for an easy, no-fuss brekkie on the go. And if you're dairy-free? No worries! Swap in coconut or soy yoghurt, and you’re good to go. 🍫🥄
Ingredients: Serves: 2
- Plain yoghurt of choice
- Black chia seeds
- Maple syrup
- Cocoa powder
- Vanilla essence
- Milk of choice
Toppings:
- Chopped fruit or berries
- Toasted coconut flakes
- Granola/Muesli
Method:
- Using two insulated food jars, make chia pudding by adding 1/3 cup yoghurt, 2 tbsp black chia seeds, 1 tbsp maple syrup, 1 tbsp cocoa powder, 1 tbsp milk and ½ tsp vanilla too each and stir well.
- Refrigerate overnight or for at least 3 hours and then top with fruit and coconut and enjoy cold!
Notes:
- Adjust the consistency with milk so it’s smooth, chia seeds absorb moisture and will thicken up when refrigerated too make a pudding consistency.
